Why We Started Live It Out Apparel

Why We Started Live It Out Apparel

There are moments in life when God places something on your heart so deeply that even through fear, uncertainty, and struggle, you know you have to be obedient.

Live It Out Apparel started as a dream my husband came to me with. Throughout our marriage, we’ve always talked about obedience, faith, and wanting to do something impactful for God. My husband would always say he didn’t feel like the most vocal person, but I’ve always disagreed. Of course I do — I’m his wife.

Still, his vision was never really about speaking loudly. It was about creating something that could speak for itself.

He wanted to create clothing centered around scripture — pieces you could wear daily as a reminder. Reminders for the moments when life feels heavy. When faith feels difficult. When you need courage. When you need to stand bold even while afraid.

At first, the idea was simple. We talked about customizable shirts with favorite scriptures. But slowly, the vision became bigger. More intentional. More creative. More impactful.

Our first attempt at building the business was on Etsy.

And honestly, it failed.

We were scammed and lost money we truly could not afford to lose. At the time, my husband had lost his job and my maternity leave was coming to an end. To say we were in a financial crisis would honestly be an understatement.

Losing our savings during that season was heartbreaking.

So we stopped.

We focused on surviving. I had to regain my footing with work, and life simply demanded our attention elsewhere. But even during the pause, the vision never fully left us.

When we returned to building this business, it was a new year — 2026.

And here we are now, trying to build something from nothing.

To be honest, we’ve been anxious. We still are sometimes.

Will people like the designs?
Is the website good enough?
Will anyone understand the vision?
Are we even doing this right?

So many questions.

But through every test, setback, and uncertain moment, one thing has remained constant: this journey has been an act of obedience.

Live It Out Apparel was never just about clothing for us. It was about creating reminders of faith people could carry into everyday life. Pieces that encourage people to trust God, move boldly, and live out what they believe — publicly and unapologetically.

Even during the trials of building something meant to glorify God, we’ve made the decision that we will not stop.

Just as it says in Galatians 6:9:

Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.\text{Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.}

We will continue acting in obedience.
We will continue building in faith.
And we will continue trusting God with the outcome.

If you’re reading this today, we hope our story encourages you too.

Maybe there’s something God placed on your heart that fear has been talking you out of.
Maybe you’ve been waiting for certainty before taking the first step.
Maybe you’ve been doubting whether you’re capable.

But faith often begins before we feel ready.

Life is for living.

So live boldly.
Live faithfully.
Live it out.
